Current Projects

In 2020, over 50 artists entered eight rural “bubble” residences created by Works & Process, in order to financially support and nurture their creative process during the pandemic. Captured by filmmaker Nic Petry of Dancing Camera, this four-part docuseries, Isolation to Creation, allows audiences to get a behind the scenes glimpse inside the bubble and to “experience the hope, joy, and emotional challenge experienced by performers returning to the studio and stage.” I had the dual pleasures of being a subject in the film, as well as composing the score.

Dorrance Dance is an award winning tap dance company and the brainchild of my friend and collaborator Michelle Dorrance, a MacArthur “genius” award winning dancer and choreographer. Since 2011, I’ve helped compose original music for six different shows, most recently with actor Bill Irwin, as the company has moved to the forefront of tap dance, with a murderously talented group of dancers, musicians, choreographers, and composers.  The company has created original work for the Guggenheim rotunda, performed at The Kennedy Center, BAM, and in venues around the world.

An evening length dance and live music extravaganza, Music From The Sole is a live tap dance show that blurs the line between seeing an evening of dance and experiencing a live band.  Co-created by myself and Brazilian tap dancer and choreographer Leonardo Sandoval, the show draws heavily on the music of the African diaspora, including hip hop, Brazilian, afro-cuban, and jazz.  In addition to performing at the prestigious Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Music From The Sole has also partnered with The National Dance Institute to begin offering tap dance and body percussion workshops to young performers!

Darwin Deez

Darwin Deez is as much a family as it is an indie band.  We’ve traveled the world several times over and have played everything from a squatter house show in Athens, GA to the massive Glastonbury Festival in the UK.

Founder and namesake Darwin and I met working at a vegan restaurant in NYC in 2006.  We were touring the east coast in a Toyota Tacoma as a duo until the British label Lucky Number Music released the debut album. He’s one of the best songwriters I know.
